BBC Cymru Wales is a supporter of NGfL Cymru
Subject to BBC Commercial Policy Guidelines this will allow for:
- Dedicated access to BBC Wales’ Education and Learning web content through bbc.co.uk in both English and Welsh through the NGfL Cymru Portal on a non-exclusive basis
- Subject to rights clearances, the BBC will licence users to access audio and video archive content in relevant subjects which can be used within lesson plans and in a range of educational contexts
- Content contribution to the Virtual Teacher Centre from BBC Wales INSET resources
- In searching for resources through NGfL Cymru, users will be able to access relevant resources from BBC Wales through BBC Online
For over 70 years education has been central to the BBC’s purpose as a public service broadcaster. The provision of educational services is a commitment set out in the BBC’s Royal Charter - a fundamental obligation alongside information and entertainment. Seventy years on, aspects of traditional media will be transformed into multimedia learning experiences taking full advantage of technological developments and the demands of future learners. The use of innovation will transform learning and teaching experiences.

- Online - Enhanced & interactive online content with increased online tutoring such as ‘Ask a Teacher’, Create e-learning communities, Virtual Learning Locations, Interactive learning games, Revision services, Help for parents in supporting their children’s education, Learning journeys for post 16, Virtual learning environments for Welsh learners
- Mobile learning - Appropriate m-learning (mobile learning) & SMS (text messaging services)
